You say to make sure the chassis can take enough drives, aren't the number of bays/SATA fixed in the T5600 or does it come in a variety of chassis? The NAS devices I was looking at would have been suitable other than the fact they aren't powerful enough to transcode. My main requirements are for a media server (using Plex, Emby or Kodi etc) that will transcode and Time Machine backup. What's the GFX card you refer to? I can't see that in the list of specs? I wasn't planning on having a monitor attached to the server, I was hoping to access the server via a web browser using my Mac Book Pro. Or that it might be possible but very difficult to setup. ![]() So a server such as this would work with Time Machine backup?
